Beer lovers, this one's for you! We're kicking off our first Beer Class in years with the amazing folks from Right Proper Brewing Co., and you won’t want to miss it. Learn about the history of the DC craft beer scene, try some great brews, and enjoy tasty bites from our kitchen.
If you have been a fan of our wine or spirits classes, come give it a try! Chef Madeline and our entire kitchen team are excited to showcase how food friendly this lineup is, with bites to pair with each duo of styles. We’ll be pouring two American, two German, and two Belgian style brews from Right Proper, pairing a delicious new snack from Chef with each duo. Why this beer?
We believe in this local brewery, making “beer flavored beer.” No fruit pureé, no gratuitous price tags, no 12% monsters that leave you dehydrated instead of thirst-quenched. Just local, well-made, classic styles with a great history to boot! Ben Wohl, Certified Cicerone, will be joining us from Right Proper to tell us about the deep history some of these particular recipes can boast. He won’t boast, because he’s just about the nicest guy you’ll meet. But we’ll boast a little for him. The man knows his beer.
We’ll discuss styles of beer, history, Right Proper, give you a chance to ask all your nerdy questions, and just have a generally good time! What’s that famously embellished quote from Benjamin Franklin? “God made beer because he loves us and wants us to be happy.” Ben & Ben both want you to come find out why we believe it anyway!
