Les Brebis, French for ewe, is a small winery based in the southern Willamette Valley's Eola-Amity-Hills. Offering their first release in 2013, the Shaffer family, German for shepherd, sources grapes from four distinct vineyards in the Eola and adjacent South Salem Hills to craft two red wines and one rosé, exclusively from Pinot Noir. Each vineyard varies in size, aspect, soil type, altitude, vine age and clonal selection, but all are sustainably farmed with organic and biodynamic practices and dry farmed without irrigation. This 2015 Willamette Valley designate is fermented in small lots with native yeast, aged in french oak barrels for 11 months, and bottled unfiltered. The result it purity, freshness and entry level Oregon Pinot Noir at its finest.
